Movie of the Month

Movie of the Month

This month’s movie is Mr and Mrs Smith. Hands down one of my favorite action movies. I’m still mourning the loss of Brad and Angelina’s relationship.

If you watched it, let me know what you think in the comments.

On This Day in History – November 4

On November 4. 2008 Barack Obama became the first African-American to be elected President of the United States. He was the 44th person to occupy the Oval Office.

Do you have a favorite president? Mine is Abraham Lincoln.

International Artist Day

International Artist Day was launched in 2004* to honor the contribution artists make to society. Below is some various art I got from my friends and online (bonus points if you can correctly guess which one I did).

Even though I don’t draw or paint much anymore, I still consider hairstyling an art.

What’s your favorite art form?

Movie of the Month

This month’s movie is Transcendence. Without spoiling the plot, all I will say is the ending is bittersweet.

Good News

I came home from a job interview earlier today. It was a success! I officially start tomorrow. The best part is the payment is salary plus whatever tips I make from clients. Given my language, you might be able to guess it’s at a hair salon. I’ll be a shampoo technician instead of a stylist, but I’m okay with that. As long as I’m working in the industry I studied for I’m happy.

To be honest, I wasn’t expecting to find a job this fast. It’s only been a month and a half since I stopped working. God is awesome. Anyways, I’ll be making a salary instead of only commission like the previous salons I worked at. Waking up early this morning to visit the salon was worth it.

Do you like your job?

World Card Making Day

Today is World Card Making Day!

Now that we have so much modern technology paper cards are slowly becoming obsolete. That makes them more special in my opinion.

A few years ago I brought some cardstock to make my own cards for people. This is a good time to get a headstart on the Christmas season.

Do you give people cards?

Disclaimer: I got the photo in this post online, but I’m going to try recreating it myself.
